A Journey Guided by Passion and Expertise
Eastwind Cares was born from a simple but powerful observation: children thrive when given the chance to connect with animals, with nature, and with themselves.
It all started when Eastwind began training service dogs to support people with autism. The results in reducing challenging behavior such as self-injury were remarkable. As children bonded with the dogs, their presence showed increased communication, regulation, and engagement.
Inspired by these moments, the Eastwind founder searched for the right expert to design a space where trained dogs could be part of structured, ongoing therapeutic work. A partnership formed, merging Eastwind’s expertise in dog training with the evidence-based methods of behavioral analysis led by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst from the U.S. With evidence-based methods at its core, the program design was completed, and with the support of a U.S.-based advisory board, a new model of therapy was born.
Today, Eastwind Cares continues to grow, offering a companion to traditional therapy services and proving that healing sometimes begins with a tail wag and a gentle nudge.

Our Guiding Principles
We are guided by a core set of beliefs that shape every therapy session and family interaction.
Our Mission
To be a model of excellence in dog-assisted therapy for children with neurodiverse needs.
Science-Based & Joyful
Our approach complements traditional therapies by offering hands-on, goal-based learning in a supportive environment.
Focus on Generalization
Generalization is the reason we provide therapy. We succeed when a family tells us their child can now perform key skills in their daily life.
Empowering Caregivers, Building Passion
We focus on empowering caregivers by providing the tools, training, and ongoing guidance to extend progress into home and community life. Listening to each caregiver's needs is a core value. There is nothing better than providing a therapy that children are excited to attend. Whether it's grooming, feeding, or simply bonding with a dog, every moment is an opportunity for growth and developing a new passion.

Our Safe & Nurturing Centers
Both of our centers are designed to be calm, welcoming, and sensory-friendly spaces where children feel safe to learn, connect, and thrive.
